AIM
- To provide a basic knowledge of techniques required to temporarily
suspend equipment in a live entertainment setting.
COURSE CONTENT
- A copy of the course syllabus is included.
- The course comprises of a mixture of lectures, demonstrations,
hand-outs, visual aids, group and individual practical sessions, problem
solving and discussion.
- This is the first of four levels of instruction and therefore does
not assume any prior knowledge. Access to further levels will require
attendance of the previous levels.
- Trainees are provided with a log-book to record their work
experience. Details of length of job, techniques used, responsibility held and
name of supervisor may be entered. In this way, a record will be made of the
trainees development and experience.
TARGET GROUP
- Those who would benefit from this course are technicians desiring to
be come riggers and others who would like to understand a little of what is
going on over their head!
- Job titles of previous trainees include: lighting techs, sound
engineers, Health and Safety Licensing officers, production managers, in-house
stage managers and venue managers.
CERTIFICATION
- Upon completion of this course, a Certificate of Attendance is
issued. It details the topics covered on the course.
- It is stressed that the certificate is not a statement of
competence, as there is no assessment made of the trainees ability.
